Things To Know:

  • Room Temperature: This is by far the most important factor, in owning and operating any DTG Printer. Room Temperature should be below 76 Degrees Fahrenheit. If Humidity is too high, textile inks will begin to clog very quickly.

  • T-Shirt Material: For Best Results, we recommend 100%Cotton or 50/50 Blends. You can also print on 100% Polyester.

  • Maintenance: Cleaning Solution, Cleaning Foam Swabs and Cleaning Wipes can all be purchased from Firebird.

  • Pretreatment: Pretreatment is required for Dark Garments and can be purchased from Firebird. Also Prints on white T-shirts are much more Vivid when Pretreatment is applied.

  • Pretreat Sprayer: The Wagner Sprayer is great for applying Pretreatment to garments. Please see the Nikko DTG YouTube Channel for more details.

  • Heat Press: A "Good" Heat Press is required for curing Textile Inks after garment is printed. We Recommend Hotronix or Geo Knight. For lower budget heat presses, purchase from Amazon this way you can see Customer Reviews.

  • Heat Press Sheets: We recommend using a Teflon Sheet or Parchment Paper.

    • Teflon Sheet (Gives print a Gloss Finish) (Can also use to press pretreated T-Shirt)

    • Parchment Paper (Gives print a SemiGloss Finish) (Can also use to press pretreated T-Shirt)

    • Kraft Paper (Gives print a Matte Finish) (Do not use to press Light Pretreated T-Shirts. Will eventually leave yellow box on T-shirt)
